Welcome to ELM: Empowering Lives through Music, Art, and Media
Since 2013, ELM has been dedicated to creating safe spaces for youth of color in gentrifying neighborhoods. With a deep commitment to ensuring that our communities embrace the music, art, media, and visibility flooding into Bushwick and New York, we have tirelessly pursued our mission. However, our journey has not been without challenges.
Over the years, we have faced displacement from over a dozen spaces, leaving us with limited resources. As people of color, it is vital not only to own the spaces we inhabit but also to empower our youth to reclaim their neighborhoods. We believe the time has come to embark on one of ELM’s most important and impactful campaigns yet.
Our Vision: Building an Official Monsta House
ELM is determined to provide stability to the community we serve. To achieve this, we have set our sights on owning a lot and constructing our own official Monsta House. By having a permanent space, we can establish a lasting hub for creativity, empowerment, and growth.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT FROM ALL THE OTHER COMMUNITY ORGS & NON PROFITS GETTING MAJOR FUNDING THAT WE DONT?
WE ARE LOYAL TO THE CAUSE AND THE MISSION BECAUSE WE FIGHT FOR WHAT HAS AFFECTED US GENERATIONALLY AND SYSTEMATICALLY. WE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO PROVIDE THE COMMUNITY AND YOUTH THE RESOURCES THAT WERE NEVER PROVIDED TO US AND THAT WE ALL TRULY DESERVE. OUR BUILDING WILL CONSIST OF AN ENTIRE VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS HUB WITH A FEW APARTMENTS FOR HOMELESS YOUTH. WE WILL HIRE THE YOUTH WHO AGE OUT TO BE THE NEXT LADERS AND MENTORS OF THIS COMMUNITY.
